Dr. David Rubio

Welcome everyone!  I am grateful for the opportunity to help toddlers, children, and families THRIVE in life.  I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (FL# PY11904) who is dedicated to providing compassionate and effective care to all my patients.

My education and training has given me the opportunity to work with children and families in a variety of settings.  I have experience working in schools, homes, specialized clinics, and private practice.  Although I work with children and adolescents of all ages, I have a true passion for working with families of toddlers and young school-aged children with behavioral challenges.  I believe that all behaviors serve a function and are a form of communication.  I greatly enjoy teaching parents to understand the purpose behind their children’s behaviors.  By helping parents understand the functions of behaviors and using evidence-based practices such as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, we can work collaboratively with their children to teach more effective ways of getting their needs met.  Outside of work I enjoy reading, kayaking, playing cards and board games, and spending time with my fiancé.  Together we go on walks and like finding new restaurants to try.
